Vocational Program
At Equi-Ed, our Vocational Program is specifically designed for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), focusing on building essential skills for future employment and independence. The program emphasizes areas such as task completion, following multi-step directions, workplace safety, communication, teamwork, and time management. Students engage in hands-on activities that align with their vocational IEP goals, offering real-world experience in a supportive environment that fosters personal and professional growth.
Animal Care and Management
Students learn essential skills in grooming, feeding, and maintaining the well-being of the horses. This includes understanding horse behavior, practicing safety measures, and developing routines that promote responsibility and empathy.
Facility Maintenance
Students participate in the upkeep of the barn and surrounding areas. Tasks may include cleaning stalls, organizing equipment, and maintaining the cleanliness of common areas. This work helps build skills in task completion, organization, and teamwork.
Workplace Safety and Procedures
Emphasizing the importance of safety in an equestrian environment, students are trained to follow protocols, use equipment properly, and recognize potential hazards. This focus area helps build awareness and promotes a safe working environment.
Communication and Social Skills
Through interactions with peers, instructors, and our barn animals, students develop communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal. Students practice giving and receiving instructions, collaborating on tasks, and building confidence in their ability to work within a team.

Before finalizing acceptance into our program, we kindly request to:

This helps ensure the we have the necessary support in place to meet the unique needs of all participants.
Once accepted, our team will assess whether a parent/guardian will need to remain on-site during initial sessions to further support the student's success.
Understanding Program Pricing
Our Pathways Vocational Sessions are priced to reflect the high level of individualized support and expertise each participant receives. Each session includes one-on-one direct instruction from certified and highly trained staff, ensuring that every activity is tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of the individual.
We use evidence-based, data-driven interventions and supports to promote meaningful progress in vocational, social, and life skills.
In addition, our program design includes thoughtful planning, regular progress monitoring, and collaboration with families and service providers, all of which contribute to the quality and effectiveness of the experience. The cost also supports access to specialized equipment, the upkeep of our facility, and the well-being of the horses that make this work possible.
